    If the government wants to get you it doesn’t matter what you do they will get in

    Your job is to make it as difficult as possible. The same applies to criminals: make it difficult and they will go elsewhere. They are good at the Risk/Effort vs Reward calculation and are always on the lookout for the "soft" target.

      The difference with Government is that they can use force beyond that available to criminals, if your device is detected doing something naughty the Government can turn up at your house, enter by force seize your stuff and demand passwords / encryption keys on pain of a few years in prison if you don't comply (at least in the UK).

      They also have a full time staff paid to infiltrate your stuff, and you can bet they will be swopping zero day exploits and tips and tricks with other agencies and criminals.
