    Transmeta

Nostalgia for the days when CPU design was still really interesting and people could afford to try stuff (that ultimately failed but not too disastrously.)

It probably isn't true but it often seems like cpu progress nowadays is predictable and fairly linear, and GPUs is where it's at.

Speaking Arse... Misrepresenting the facts again...

Sara and co do seem to have completely mis-represented the Apple vs Blackberry issue.

The implied situation is that Apple does not provide any help to Governments, but the reality is that they do - they've provided the data from iCloud and so on - in fact where they have had the sensible technical ability to help - without introducing specific and custom backdoors, custom software or out of the norm methods they assist.

Blackberry is the same - where they have the means, they have provided assistance. Where they cannot (for example, a BES managed device) they cannot and do not provide help and there is nothing to suggest they've done anything else.

It would be nice if those peddling misinformation could actually get a grip on reality before commenting.
