I'd hardly call initiating a frantic public media damage limitation frenzy "shrugged off fears" myself... more indicative of a state of "is shitting himself"
...and as for... "will look back, and people will think 'How could I ever have thought about not wearing this watch?'." ...the poor man's clearly psychotic.
