Security researchers have discovered a vulnerability that creates a means for hackers to circumvent Apple’s newest protection feature, System Integrity Protection (SIP). SIP is designed to prevent potentially malicious software from modifying protected files and folders. The technology is designed to protect the system from …

      Agreed.

But hey ho. This is Apple. Just waiting for their lawyers to start flinging letters around.

Of all the other 17575 three letter acronyms out there, why did they have to pick that one?

    Where's the logo?

As pointed out above "SIP" is a VoIP protocol.

Now where is the silly logo, daft name and website?

It's a bad day to be sipping...

Nothing really, I just find it funny that two different protocols called SIP are both found to have leaks at the same time.

True that, but alas, it's not yet beer o'clock, although it does come early today as it's POETGF day today :)

I guess "Apple fixes bug in latest version of OS X, IOS"

as a headline didn't sound quite so exciting

So much for their "It just works(TM)(C)(R)" slogan.

Yes, it just works if you don't count security flaws, botched updates, bending and a whole bunch of other UNIQUE features.

    WTF?

    So which is it?

"The bug exists in every version of Apple’s OS X desktop operating system."

“The bug was patched with El Capitan 10.11.4 and iOS 9.3,”

So the bug exists in "all versions" despite being fixed in the latest verions.... impressive!

      Re: So which is it?

And SIP was only added to El Capitan, so there is no bypassing something that doesn't exist in previous versions of OS X...
