      To the East from Sweden¹: Finland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Russian Federation, U.S., Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden itself.

      In the absence of further details, interpreting a mere "to the East" as "Russia" seems like a wide bit of extrapolation. Then again, I'm an engineer. :-(

    My guess is that it's something to do with Swedish publishers plan summer ‘Block Party’ to thwart ad blockers, reported a few days ago in El Reg.

      Maybe - though I would have thought that if it were being done for an ideological (as opposed to "national interest") reason, the attackers would be making a big noise about their motivations.
