    Lets take a moment and congratulate HP for taking over the world with Itanium just as it was predicted to do so a decade ago. Also as we all are aware and as HP said, 2014 was the year of memristor and wow is the world a different place now.

      Point taken. I remember returning from a service call in my HP CE-Mobile in the mid-nineties (cellphone handset in the armrest, big black box in the trunk), and picked up a broadcast internal voicemail from corporate HQ announcing the HP Itanium partnership with Intel. Twenty years and still waiting for that chip that "will change everything".

    Itanium was a valiant bet, like it was the bankrupt tech "cell" of IBM, sony and toshiba but there were chancy bets we would be still with the 4040 of intel
