Had me going there, I thought you were going to say the Co-Op is being run by a former member of The Crystal Method. Oh well...

Given his previous bouts of leadership, this might be a very reasonable assumption.

      This might be the straw

I have been havering over whether to move away from the Co-op, but it's not so bad as to require the effort. Now I will be on the alert for technical idiocies and will be on my toes.

My other half works in marketing there. I've already warned her to prepare for some serious quango-buzzword fuckwittery.

'Social media and digital marketing'......isn't that the ONLY thing this technically stunted fucktard can do?

Someone please, please explain to me what a 'digital officer' is? I'm afraid I'm just so 5 years ago!

What the hell is 'digital' anyhow? 1's and / or 0's? A finger? When did 'digital' become a pre-nominal of sorts to a role? Digital guru / evangelist / sultan / ayatollah / ninja / sage. What a bunch of old hipster arse!

There's even a coffee shop in the Malpas area of Newport, South Wales that claims to be some part of the digital revolution. Their gimmick......wait for it.......is that whatever you see in the shop - you can buy! If only Woolworths thought of that. Their next gimmick.....you can order online. I'll bet Amazon is packing up their toys and going home. Oh, it was funded on Kickstarter too.

I wish I had the same talent to sell the emperor his suit of clothes.

Check out their particular brand of bearded shite with added quinoa - Parc Pantry. Pffffffft! I'm sure that you'll see Bracken in there with his Macbook stuffing mung beans into his fat face whilst figuring out how he can sell CoOp's funeral services online. Lets hope he doesn't make a pigs ear of it as he did with the rural payments. I can just see the bodies piling up waiting for burial.

    Good luck, former Mike Bracken

Bring that special magic to the Coop. I look forward to 5 years from now, when their websites all have big black fonts on a white background. And ... all that other digital stuff you do.

And I will still give your conference speeches, blog posts, and out outpourings their due attention, even if they are no longer bylined as coming from Chief Very Important Digital Person

Give the Co-Ops socialist/egalitarian roots, surely he'll be working pro-bono?

Co-op were ahead of the times in 1999 with the launch of one of the first internet banks - Smile.

And somehow it's survived to this day with the web interface out changing one bit. It feels a bit Geocities really, with its lack of web standards, usability etc.. I hear Smile is being cut now, which is a bit of a relief.
