back to article EU digi-chief to meet ministers and sort out the net neutrality thing

Gaffe-prone Gunther H-dot, Europe’s digital chief, has waded into the net neutrality debate once again, but has vowed to sort everything out in a meeting with national ministers next Friday. Commissioner Oettinger was reported this week saying that “net neutrality is socialism by the back door”. This alarming statement is only …

No, we need better investment to ensure that there is adequate bandwidth in the first place.

Netflix speeds mysteriously jumped up when they started giving in to the blackmail.

The bandwidth is already there, the ISPs are just looking to maximise their profit in every way imaginable.

If any user is using too much then you penalise them, not the services being used by everybody, including those not breaking any rules.

Anything more than that is profiteering, pure and simple.

For that matter when it comes to work, how many complaints about service turn out to be from people trying to use their residential connections for commercial reasons?

Well the land of the free ultra right wing utopia imposed net neutrality so I find it hard to see how it is left wing socialism ?

    Socialism a nasty word?

Since when has "socialism" become a bad thing?

I always thought that the only community worth it's salt is one that looks after the weakest or least able.

Socialism is a good thing in certain aspects which benefits the public as a whole, both directly and indirectly.

For example: A socialist approach to medicine means no-one in the UK is denied health care. This protects the general public from potential pandemics and keeps medical outgoings to a minimum.

    .

Capitalism has ways of making non-essentials efficient and cheap in a competitive market, but are absolute gouging t**ts when it's an essential or monopolistic market.

Both pure capitalism and socialism can make slaves of us all but balanced system with both Socialism and Capitalism can work, if applied right.
