back to article Azure gives AWS the blues again in Nasuni cloud storage poll

Storage bits still prefer Microsoft over Amazon's cloud. So says a report by storage gateway start-up Nasuni. Nasuni offers storage in the cloud to its customers, with its NF-series filers acting as the gateway devices. It offers service-level agreements and so has a strong interest in CSP performance, rating cloud storage …

Stupid article based on one Cloud customer storage preference

This is type story gives un-knowledgeable technology readers the whachy impression that :

    (a) there are only 2 Cloud Computing vendors on earth - Amazon and Microsoft,

    (b) that Microsoft is "very competitive" with Amazon in being number one or two huncho in Cloud Services.

    (c) No other Cloud Computing Services exist to the same large, enterprise level for competition and consideration for enterprise storage as a vendor, particularly the "collective group" of IBM, Oracle, Cisco, HP, Dell and others offering a full and equal functional and professional range of services in OpenStack based Cloud Computing Services, and that occupy about 48% of the entire Cloud Computing Market, compared to approximately 28% for Amazon and 10% for Microsoft.''

    Geez!

Many technology writers need an education in Math, realistic reporting that is not based on one anecdotal incident of technology business preference, and whether they maybe a Microsoft propaganda shill.

Did you even read the article or are you posting in the wrong forum?

None of what you say makes sense i.r.t. to what was originally written which was about I/O speed.

The Synergy report has been shown by Microsoft and Amazon's recent annual results to be largely a work of fiction...

      stupid defense

Let Amazon and Microsoft get a credible third party expert entity to "prove" the report is bogus.

Accepting such ridiculous assertion from them is like asking the ISIS jihadists if they kill innocent people.

      Geez!

"Let Amazon and Microsoft get a credible third party expert entity to "prove" the report is bogus."

Like the large accountancy firms that certify their respective quarterly results you mean?

"Why is there an article on Microsoft as choice over Amazon based on one, repeat one (1) anecdotal reference?"

It's hardly anecdotal. It's quite detailed and seemingly unbiased. For instance Microsoft were not always first.

  3. MS Rocks

    Un-knowledgeable technology readers eh?

Would they even be reading the reg? Oh! It looks like they already are.....

Just to be clear W Anderson, you cannot make the assertion that every cloud that is not AWS, MS or Google is OpenStack. This is idiotic.

And this article is about STORAGE.....

    ...slaps forehead in despair...
