    In their failed attempt for everyone to become more "social" by forcing google plus down their throats through shutting down Google Reader they received multiple tons of feedback. Only this time it made a difference.

    What gives?

      I for one am glad in retrospect given how it turned out. Due to the discontinuation of Google Reader, I was forced to embrace new alternatives and am happy to have settled on one which is more polished than reader ever was (Inoreader if you want to know). Reader, if it still existed would still have been a neglected service and not get the care that can be expected from a competitor whose main offering is a feed aggregator. There are also the added benefits of moving away from Google walled garden.
