I am sure that on Reddit already a large number of emotionally balanced young men are already engaging in wise discourse in regards to above disclosure.
I'm sure once they've thought carefully about this they to will realize that privacy is a good thing and that a multitude tossing themselves off over stolen images is no better than an act of, albeit distant, sexual assault and that respect for ones fellow human beings is of paramount importance.
I'm sure nobody has stated anything along the lines of "if the bitch doesn't want me to fap why does she take private pictures of herself" and "the whore got them out in a movie so why shouldn't I see the stuff she took for her boyfriend". Because clearly those would be the statements of human refuse.
Or maybe not.
The damage is done not by those who wanks over the pictures but by those supposed well-wishers who rush to spread the message on all tw@ters and Facepukes:
- OMG, look! So-and-so's naked pictures have just been posted! [ha-ha-ha, stupid cow!] Poor thing, now everyone will think she's a whore [and isn't she, just?]. Such a disgrace! Her career must be ruined now! [I always thought that b*tch did not deserve that nice endorsement contract]
Posting the pictures in the first place in an act of violence.
What people do with them behind closed doors is, well, harmless. No further damage to the depicted person is done.
And, although it is not popular in these PC times to say so, if you don't want your body to be shown all over the internet in a state of nakedness, don't take pictures of it in that state and if you do, don't use an internet connected device to do so and if you do, don't use an internet file dump "in the cloud" to backup your device and most definitely never show the pictures to anyone else no matter how deserving in any form other than the one hard-copy (hur-hur) you made yourself and will be taking back in a few seconds once the lucky viewer has said the right things. To do anything else is to see yourself on a website one day in all your glory.
Digital file sharing involves copies. I'm not sure why people do not "get" that. You might as well take your hot snaps down to Boots and have copies made.

Similar to "if you don't want to be robbed, don't carry anything valuable", and other old chestnuts that remove responsibility from the bad people and place it upon the foolish people.
I still find it baffling how it took such a big event for people to take notice of this.
I got into a discussion about it elsewhere and the attitude people have is insane. They legitimately believe that if a person gives them a nude shot, it is then theirs to do as they wish. But if you ask em what they would do in the reverse they won't go past "but I'm not stupid enough to give someone naked photos"
It ran into a wall though when you asked em if their missus' had theirs stolen, because people with that sort of mentality are forever alone
1) your primary task will be to contact celebrities and ascertain if the photos you are looking at are really them in a state of undress, engaging in sexual acts or sexually excited (of course, the last could be clothed or unclothed).
2) You must never ask questions akin to:
a) how did you get that flexible?
b) are they real? (references to "photoshoppng" are included in this)
c) are those other people all from the same team
d) if you can join in
Did you deliberately choose that particular image of Ms Lawrence knowing that the placement of the near-opaque caption/headline panel on the front page would make it look like she had nothing on... until one clicked through to the story itself and saw the whole unobscured photo, shoulderless dress and all?

What about in the instance where the person uploading is the legitimate right holder even if the subject doesn't want it posting. Thinking of someone now famous that did a paid glamour shoot before hitting the big time.
Does this just apply to stolen pics or simply any that they don't want on the site?
Unlikely that reddit would be the location they would choose to share the pics but you never know.
Off the top of my head aware of Cameron Diaz and Geri Haliwell who both have early photo shoots they would prefer were forgotten but as they were paid for them not a lot they can do unless they reach an agreement to buy them back. Pretty sure there are more celebs out there with similar things that could come back to bite them.
Whether they were paid, paid for it or no money exchanged hands, if they signed a model release then tough titties.
Something any woman considering a personal boudoir style session should be aware of. Most contracts give the photographer rights of reproduction even though the woman requested the shoot and paid for it.

But as I think was mentioned earlier, what if the person uploading HAS the rights to publish, i.e. they took the photo either with a signed contract, OR in a situation when they had the rights to take the photo, meaning its their copyright?
IN these cases the photos were stolen, there was some hacking involved to get copies.. I can fully understand them being taken down... but a guy/girl uploading a photo that was sent to them by someone else? well its tough luck on the sender, they took a risk and misjudged who they trusted...
In most countries, the person who took the photograph is usually the copyright holder and is legally permitted to publish it wherever they wish. The subject of the photograph does not generally have any control or rights over that photograph.
While Reddit (and any other site) is duty bound to comply with the law, they are also entitled to have rules of their own *in addition* to the legal rules. Reddit *must* ban photographs that the copyright holder does not want to be published, but are also perfectly entitled to ban photographs that the subject of the photograph does not want to be published even if they are not *obliged* to make such a rule.

Actually in at least one small county (USA), someone recognizable in a photo has the right to restrict it's use for advertising or trade, and celebrities generally get a "right to publicity control" which means they get to control use of their images (because this is considered part of their trade). So the subject of the photograph *does* have control/right over the photograph in these cases. Hence model releases to avoid complaints later. OTOH newsworthy/editorial use is protected via freedom of speech, but even then a Release avoids debate about whether the use counts as news.
But I do agree with Cynic_999, that even if the person in the photo has signed away rights via a model release, Reddit is under no obligation to publish photos it does not want to, in somewhat the same way that theregister.co.uk doesn't have to publish user content/comments it doesn't want to either. So Reddit is free to have a policy banning photos based on taste or the subject not wanting them published, if Reddit wants.

Let's see . . .
What is nudity? In different places, the laws are different. Some say pasties are enough; some say otherwise. So Reddit is setting itself up to violate laws in differing locations by censoring freedom of speech? A Right protected in the U.S., and also recognized under the auspices of the U.N.
What is sexual excitement? Laughing, smiling, eyes sparkling, cold nips, uh, "nipping"? In that case, would it not be the one who is wearing the thin T-shirt, bathing suit, or dress who is at fault? And no, that's not sexist; even men - and some "undecided" - wear dresses nowadays. Too, let's not overlook the "excitement" which happens to a man in revealing clothing who sees a "sexually exciting" person (of whichever sexual disposition).
Engaged in any act of sexual conduct? Like, for instance, being male or female in public? Or private? Modelling for a photoshoot? Acting in a movie or play?
Careful, Reddit Censors-in-Chief. I see lawsuits galore; lawyers getting rich, property being seized pending investigation . . .
