back to article Rap for fap stack in hack trap flap: This XXX site caught an STI (Script Transmitted Infection)

Blue movie website RedTube was stiffed over the weekend by a hacker who gave the site a rather nasty infection. WTF?

    Flash

Why on earth is anyone still using that pile of steaming dung called flash. No cute cat video or anything else is worth the aggravation caused by the lace curtain shield called Flash. Or do people want a career devoted to almost daily updates that always follow the release of yet another flaw exploit?

I totally agree with you. It's an almost weekly occurrence.

      Re: Flash

I actually visited redtube recently, but thankfully using my Android tablet, so no Flash to worry about. That does raise the question though; if it was so easy for mobile sites to do without Flash when Adobe canned the mobile versions, why is it still so popular for desktop sites? The transition away from Flash on mobile really didn't seem that painful.

    Thumbs up

Beautiful piece of journalism, this, in the best traditions of this esteemed organ. I take my hat off to you. And well done for ensuring that high investigative standards are maintained by actually visiting the site concerned rather than merely relying on hearsay. Top job.

    Penetration

    > It's not clear how deep RedTube, part of the massive PornHub network, was penetrated

From the reputation of the site, I'm guessing the attackers exploited a well-known back door.

    Origin of "grumble flick"?

I was thinking a couple of days ago (rare occurence) about where did the term "grumble flick" originate?

I just did a search and the only defining reference to "grumble flick" was urban dictionary witrhout any detail of origin.

Most of the top entries were links to different variations of this article.

The word "grumble" does not give self satisying clues.

Closest might be the verb grumble "to utter low, indistinct sounds; growl. " I guess while pleasuring oneself, one might grumble.

    Thanks.
