Perhaps they get somebody on the inside to plant backdoors? It could mean anything from breaking in to install custom hardware that gives them access (e.g. reverse SSH) , to bribing a janitor to plug in a wifi AP somewhere in the building.
Still, I'm not sure you can class anyone as an "IT specialist" if they get so badly owned that the miscreants can watch them on their own webcams. Sysadmins especially should be security conscious, and all the ones I know (myself included) have paranoid tendencies.
Not at all, now is a good time to buy or steal and due to the volatility a good time to hide transactions. I bought a load last week at 120, have sold them on now.
I think these boys are a bit like the A team, some form of ex <sinsert name> doodz using their skills for more lucrative purposes.

No, it is just stupid to hack banks in the country that you live in. Plus, banks in Russia probably have significant political connections.
And they are staying away from the EU/US for now, because that is probably where they store their funds. As does half of Russia. You don't want to hack banks that have a variety of international and treaties in place that allow them to seize funds stolen from a member bank.
