I hope the employees involved get much more than a token settlement.
Some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley have filed a court motion asking for more time in mediation before going to court to fight former employees who claim they were put on secret no-hire blacklists by their bosses. The class action suit claims that from 2005 the bosses of Adobe, Apple, Google, Intel, Intuit, Lucasfilm, …
... for a settlement - which will essentially whitewash all criminal activity, instead of throwing the book at the senior executives involved in this conspiracy, be them dead or alive?
Even if the settlement amount is doubled, USD $700 Million divided amongst the four companies involved amounts to cost of doing business. It may even be tax-deductible.
This is not a deterrent, and will not prevent this from happening in the future.
