    Don't forget the stronger coin

    Following the news of the election results, the INR immediately started getting stronger, and has gained over 5% in value. This of course means that the Indian government (as well as corporations) will be able to spend more on foreign technology vendors.

      There's likely some measure of truth there. The term 'improved governance' is almost always code for either 'closing off revenue loopholes and leakages' or 'taxing something technology now allows us to measure'.

      TBH, as long as it was done is a reasonable way, I wish our HMRC would take a few leaves out of the Indian government's book when it comes to tax collection from large corporations. Or even a whole branch...
