back to article Oracle's Larry Ellison has the biggest public pay package

Oracle founder and chief exec Larry Ellison has managed to stay one of the highest-paid CEOs of the hundred largest publicly traded US firms for another year, despite his shrinking package. Ellison topped the lot with a take-home of $78.4m in 2013. That's a hefty hunk of dosh, but it was down $18m from his 2012 compensation. …

A room full of $100 dollar bills to be able to get women to roll around naked with him.

      FTFY.

Well money won't make this a happy occasion if his package is shrinking. You gotta feel sorry for those women eh!

    Don't forget....

He also owns 25% of the stock so get 25% of the profit.

Does anyone know if Ellison owns a white cat ?

The really rich and cool bosses just take $1 pa just to show how trivial a few million is.

    Buffet, Page, Bezos etc

    Minimum wage?

I always like the argument against raising the minimum wage "because it will force employers to fire people" - just think how many more CEO's we could have if they all took a pay cut. It's people like Larry that are causing the current unemployment crisis in upper management.

If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gives it to.

    Poor guy

Having to cut back his wage to that pitiful level. At least he's feeling the pain like his employees.

    Times are tough all over.

."Ellison,...is rumoured to be worth somewhere in the region of $48bn."

Yea...but $48bn doesn't go as far as it used to.

Unattached, so his package is available for inspection

It may be a shrinking package at his age, but $78m buys a lot of viagra.

    all that money

and nothing to do but buy elections. And force a city to host his boat race.

I wish Ellison would get into powerboating. Or something like that "rocket racing league" that Xcor wanted to start up.

Something where "buying the fastest there is" is still no guarantee of success, because the field is still trying to find out what "fastest" is. Technology pushed in the sailing regime that had any use outside of billionaire boys' club projects already worked its way into industry years ago.

    Earn?

I question the use of the word "earn" in articles like this - nobody earns that much they are just lucky enough to be employed by a company silly (greedy) enough to afford to give them that much.
