    > Stuxnet-like code weapons to nark NORKS

... when a trinket worn by NK's anti-drug police causes inflammation below their chins. Leading to the headline:

Nick nack narks NORK'S narcs' necks

    we can only hope.

    More Difficult

North Korea is so isolated from the rest of the world, it will be very difficult to introduce a virus into their computers. The only consequence of an attempt might be to lead the North Korean police more quickly to people who are illegally watching DVDs from abroad or things like that.

      @ John Savard

Or the whole matter could be a ploy on the part of South Korea to lessen the severity of the Nork online attacks by causing them to devote part of their resources to combating a non-existent South Korean threat. Otherwise, why would South Korea even put this in the newspapers at all - a course of action that would seem counterproductive if such operations were actually taking place?

So the defence minister can show that he at least is doing something to counter the NK threat - and it's all cool and cyber-ish, so you should vote for him, and he should run for a higher office

Cheaper than developing a Stuxnet-like code weapon

Is talking about it, to make your paranoid enemy waste effort defending itself against something that does not exist.

If they were really going to do it, they wouldn't tell everyone. That would be like Japan sending a cable to Washington on November 7, 1941 warning them about the impending sneak attack scheduled 30 days hence.

    Who else?

Stuxnet-like weapons could be used against various nations: Japan, China, Australia ...

Well that wont cause a falling out.

Also everytime I see the word cyber used to mean networks or internet I want to punch someone in the dick.

Didn't they JUST bring five computers into the country? I guess South Korea was waiting for this opportunity.

    If it were true

Ones country is not likely to give forewarning about such an attack

    Opportunity for Nork...

    1. Fire nuclear weapon

    2. Announce it was unauthorised

    3. "Discover" malware in weapons system that caused the misfire

    4. Blame S. Korea

    ???

    Profit!
