Barclays' online banking service in the UK appears to have fallen over on Monday evening, leaving fuming customers unable to access their accounts. Punters are complaining they cannot log into the website, nor use the bank's multiplatform mobile app. Right now, the site greets visitors with the message: "5 - Sorry - Barclays …
Not working for me at all.
You can go to www.barclays.co.uk, but as soon as you click on the log in or go direct to Ibank, you get:
"Connection closed by remote server
You tried to access the address https://ibank.barclays.co.uk/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
This is online servicing only, right? Or is it some kind of funky NFC payment app on a phone? In which case you'd have thought they'd still be carrying a debit card?
I love the way that it's inconcievable now to be disconnected from this stuff. Not all that long ago, before ATMs, you had to plan ahead and visit a bank on Friday to get enough cash out to see you through the weekend! Technology is great but some people don't have any kind of backup plan when it goes wrong.
