Hmm looks like they want cheap agencies to me

So they want SMEs to bid real low on a skills auction. As the boss of a specialist consultancy with skilled guys who actually believes that we charge high rates because we have to spend time to invest in the skills of our team, so they know WTF they are doing and talking about and NOT learning on the job they are gonna get what they deserve. They are not buying 10000 pencils FFS.

Can they not even bother to work out what they want doing and get people to charge to deliver a piece of work instead of just bodyshopping in muppets as cheap as they can get them.

I expect a bunch of contractor pimps will keyword CV matching software will make up the majority of people on the short list.

    From the tender docs

11.4.3.1 The Potential Provider is required to submit pricing on a day rate basis for each of the Digital Roles specified in question AQB1 in the bid fields. The Potential Provider is required to provide the maximum list price per day. This will form the preliminary bid for the subsequent eAuction.

    and there's more....

11.5.3 eAuctions allow Potential Providers to bid in real time over an internet link for the Available Services specified.

    ...

11.5.5 The Authority will use a ‘Lowest Price eAuction’, Potential Providers must submit the lowest unique price and be ranked within the top 50 suppliers when the eAuction closes.

£1000/year just to access Govt tenders?

Why do we have to pay over £1000 per year to subscribe to access Govt tenders? Surely the Govt should publish opportunities out in the open, free of charge on a public website? It's almost like having to pay to walk into a Job Centre.

Maybe I'm doing this wrong? I went to www.ojeu.eu and clicked on Access The Tenders which took me to www.tendersdirect.co.uk/Search/TenderSearch.aspx

When I find a tender and want to know more there's a fat Subscribe button leading to a form and payment requirement. If 999 SMEs want to pitch for this tender the commercial company providing the website will earn £100K. Wow, a nice earner for doing very little.

Is there an open source version of this new tender from the Govt I could access please?
