    Is their year end

    You won't get paid till April so that they can show a better cash balance for their end of year accounts.

    Normal business practice.

      But surely any extra money thet get to report in this fiscal year is simply not there for the next fiscal year?

        That's OK if the money isn't there next year. The idea is that there will be even more next year. The balance will be reflected in their annual reports for the current year and share prices will adjust appropriately. It is common practice.

        Not saying Google is doing this on purpose, but we'll never know because they are as bad at communication as eBay.

      They are an American company, their year end is December. Not that many countries in the world have March year ends. The only ones I'm aware of are UK, India and Japan.

    recurrent problem

    What authorities do you go to if Google are not paying what they owe? It would be nice to know who polices them - or are they above the law?

      You go to a court and put in a claim. In the UK, you'd do that in the small claims court for cases under £5k as it's fast track and cheap to do. They get a summons to a magistrates court, at which point whomever owes you the money pays you, and you cancel the proceedings.

      Alternately, you can put in a Statutory Demand, which requires the person owing you the debt to pay it to you in 21 days, or agree a payment plan which they do as they don't want to be made bankrupt, or struck off if they are a company.
