opscode chef platform in midst of major outage too

Not sure if it's related or not.. but it started a few hours ago(Pacific time). Wouldn't surprise me if these were all linked in some way.

opscode is lucky enough to host their "status" page on tumbler which is down of course too.

Bit early on your estimate for Sandy....

Sandy isn't due until after the weekend, although there will be plenty of wind and rain up the coast before then.

We noticed very slow network speeds in general around 12.30 am last night here in Canada, but it is no problem now.

Yeah! You defend those uninhabited chunks of rock! You tell those evil map-item-renaming scum where they can stick it! And if Google defeats you, you will die a hero in defense of your potentially lucrative off-shore natural resource access! FOR VALOR! FOR HONOR! FOR NATION!

from those stats 1/3 of us traffic runs on app engine

is that really so? or did I miss something. given that 1/3 of traffics probably does not run on app engine is there perhaps more to this story?
