      Yes, but ...

... Simon Corbell's announcement shows it will be on the Western side of the Monaro Highway, in Tuggeranong (ACT) - Royalla is just the closest reference point.

Still, warm and fuzzy announcements coming from a minister's office ... I sense an election in the offing ...

    Wind turbines

When are they mounting wind turbines on top of Parliament House to capture all the hot air that is emitted?

That contract would earn a mint.

    ACT smugness

Royalla is north of the southern border with NSW. One more damn thing downwind of the airport. Glare on finals anyone ?

The misanthropes have been slobbering over this. "The age of cheap energy is over." True, because SIFs insist on policies mandating use of costly sources. A gas fired power station which would have worked at night was canned by NIMBYs.

Cost over ten years don't make sense

To get a saving of 500,000 tonnes of carbon that must be over ten years when compared to coal. For 10 years that'd cost $47 mil over the same amount of coal power. To purchase the same amount of carbon credits on the markets would only cost $10mil. I'm suposing the $37mil difference is the value of smugness.
