    Way to confuse everyone

    Mount Rainier already has an established meaning in computing, for CD-RW writing. This isn't simply another overloaded TLA, its re-using exactly the same name because they are too lazy to come up with something original. Are we to assume the underlying engineering has the same lack of effort behind it as the piss-poor marketing obviously does?

      Yeah, they may try and climb it also. It's been a mountain longer than a format.

        True, but there are enough homophones and homographs out there we can reasonably expect people to understand whether we are talking about mountains or computers. Here it isn't even simply computers, they are both storage technologies. That is surely a recipe for confusion if ever there was one.
