    So in other words, Google's becoming the "Hotbot" of China! :D

    (Or Cuil, AltaVista, Lycos, WebCrawler, InfoSeek, etc. Heck, take your pick! The Web is just full of the wreckage of these things!)

    Inevitable

    So much for the "internationalising" effect of the Intertubes. It has become large enough to fragment even on national scales. Fragmentation is inevitable for all entities as they become larger, one of the less known lessons from "Parkinson's Law".

    well, if that is the case, maybe google google and fb should read this...

    ..... reate a legitimate way for non-Chinese nationals users to be able to post messages and photos to their profiles via linked or paired, prearranged emails. If china wants to deprive its own citizens, fine, for now.

    However, i imagine that doing that would cause a rash blackout of ALL outbound email, of brazen and open filtering and holding back of queued messages, maybe eve blackholing them.

    Google and other US social media have become search engines for the US government. Qihoo did the right thing but they should enhance their English sector.
