    Hardly a surprise

    Blackberries have a long tradition of being the businessman's tool. Pwning a few in the right hands could still yield a treasure trove of corporate data. The real surprise is that they waited this long to do it.

      Indeed, getting one CEO's phone and his bank account verification code could potentially be more rewarding then 100 android phones used by 20year old youngsters .

    So how do you install it on Android? (Not sure about the blackberry either). We heard about ZeuS that infects both with drive-by-download and voluntary installation by the user. Which of the cases are we talking about here? (Any links pointing to Android apps to "drop that back door"?)

    The latter it is. The difference is that you can see the permissions of the bad app and get the idea about its true nature.

    BTW, the linked Maslennikov's blog is just some theoretic self-references talk.

      Just package it in a Trojan, promise the user breasts and they'll press whatever buttons you want them too. Or not, very few people give two shits about the security messages.

        Perhaps, users need Playboys or Penthouses and no antiviruses then? To this end, the article should expound more on the mammalian/genital matters to stay competent.

    How exactly does the malware drop onto the device, without visiting a malicious website, downloading and running an app and giving it the admin password?

    Probably funny when RIM are the only mobile maker who could possibly get excited about malware appearing on there phones as it shows there are still people out there coding for them. Have to chuckle
