back to article Live long and prosper: Spaceflight 'slows ageing process'

Microscopic worms live longer in space, scientists have revealed in research that has implications for human ageing. By blasting a bunch of Caenorhabditis elegans worms into orbit on the International Space Station, and comparing them with a set of developmentally-matched worms back on Earth, boffins found that the astro- …

    Seems like

a prime motivator for a Rockefeller orbital retirement home. Wonder if the breed of worm matters though.

But the cleaner (less pollutants) atmosphere has nothing to do with reduced toxins in the system?

    1. Graham Dawson Silver badge

No, considering these toxins are manufactured within the body as waste products that have to be excreted.

lol. Because the recycled air inside a small tin can is cleaner than you can find on Earth.

    So What ?

We humans can clearly see now, the results of what the other planet indigenous creatures did to theirs.

No doubt these worms may well be the creatures, that get to see what us humans are heading to do with Earth!

Mum Nature is not amused by "intelligent" human activity thus far.............. Nuff said.

live longer, or appear to live longer?

Doesn't time slow as you approach the speed of light? Isn't spaceflight about as fast as we can goat the moment?

Did anyone put a clock in with the worms to check?

    Worms surviving?

Again Your Great Minds are required, but didn't a container of worms survive the Columbia disaster?

Indeed they did, and I think these are the critters mentioned in the article:
