    Why on earth

would he use these sort of services anyway?

I certainly hope he wouldn't entrust anything of any real importance to them - never mind the inherent security problems all these companies have, he doesn't get to vet their staff who might be subject to any amount of temptation or have axes to grind; he might as well post the contents on public web servers and just hope no one looks at them.

      Re: Why on earth

I agree, WTF is he using Dropbox for?

Of course it could be to look cool for the younger voters,

Hi, I'm Mitt Romney, I've got a Hotmail account and a Dropbox and an MP3 player, I'm on Facebook and I tweet!

What the hell was that you got me to say?

Don't worry sir its for your ratings.

No help needed, the Commonwealth is quite capable of moving your funds themselves.

On the news this morning they are saying the concrete paving (estimated lifetime: 30 years) in the Big Dig is now failing and will need to be re-done. This translates to much excitement in the tunnels leading to the airport for the next 2 years...

(They're really quite rigorous about publishing lists and holding funds until you or your heirs claim them...apparently there's no time limit)

Romney is a gift that keeps on giving.

A second company funded by Romney has filed for bankruptcy in the solar energy sector, a week after he attacked Obama on the exact issue. Horrible man, and I have no qualm with anyone exposing him in every way possible.

      classic "talk without think" episode...

so, 80% of Bain's companies were successfully turned around, and the other 20% were already on their last legs, Bain invested money that it lost when they couldn't be saved. One happened to be in the solar industry.

Solyndra was a giveaway of money (taxpayer money, not even his money!) to insiders that was already going under. There was no risk taking, no attempt at recovery, just theft, like the rest of the stimulus slush fund.

I think you had your nouns misplaced, someone could read your post and think Romney was the evil one, when any objective reading of the facts clearly show you probably meant otherwise...

Trust a Republican to listen to exactly what someone has to say and then just assume he meant the opposite because it suits some bias or other.

Just like democrats. Listening to things like hope and change, public health care that will be better and cheaper, free government jobs for college grads and their loans forgiven after 20 years, closing gitmo, waterboarding terrorists bad but killing them and civilians with drones ok, ...

I mean seriously. Let's just call this even.

Well said Zombie, it is very clear that I meant Romney, especially given that my post clearly showed that. But with people like JPD about it is sad that I should have to point this out when it is very clear. Intelligence was never a Republican strong point.

Classic twisting the facts (aka lying). from TFA linked above

"Konarka is the second Massachusetts solar company, along with Evergreen Solar and Beacon Power, to receive taxpayer dollars under Romney’s tenure and subsequently declare bankruptcy."

This had nothing to with Bain.

        1. Tom 13

Re: This had nothing to with Bain.

Same meme, different day. Still a flat out lie. I think if Romney were a Brit instead of a 'Merkin that would make both The Big 0 and Jeebus subject to public defamation suits. Particularly since it isn't overly difficult to confirm the real facts of the case.

    3. Tom 13

@Jeebus: You really need to lay off the Kool Aid.

Romney didn't personally intervene to try to get the loan through the way The Big 0 did. In fact the loan was approved under his predecessor and Romney FOUGHT to end the loan program. But even at that, the loan was far smaller and paid back in full. After that we've got the fact that Konarka remained in business for 9 years after receiving the loan, while Solyndra barely pulled 2. Oh, and incidentally, that means Konarka went belly up while The Big 0 was in office pumping green-commie power and long after Romney was in any political office which could influenced the success of Konarka.

It really does not matter who wins even though so many people, including media, seem to think it does.

The actions of the political parties on offer in USA are not materially different. All that seems to really differ is the marketing hype that surrounds them. Just like Coke vs Pepsi, a taste test can't really tell them apart and they have no nutritional merits over the other. The only real difference is in the marketing.

    Dumber than Palin.

Not that I am an Obama fan but we are in for a fun 5 years no matter who gets in. I don't care which party, just let's have a competant, literate candidate with the support of their own party please.

it's taken the merkin political system 30 years to get this broke, it's going to take longer to get fixed. They need to hit bottom first, by which time all world commodoties will be traded in Renminbi. And most of us will only vaguely remember what america was.

        Re: Romney:

Thank you! Good to know there are other sane folks out there.

It has gone way beyond red vs blue. We talk like we are the best but we got lazy. We let our guard down and now corporations own the govt, we don't educate our kids, we don't keep our population healthy, we export our jobs. Our economy is built on loans at every level. Our stock markets overdrive the economy for short term gains which causes a huge collapse. It's about time we started changing some things. I don't care which side is in power, I just want someone to start helping make things better.

Our healthcare bill is 2k a month for a family of 4. Our school fees (including books, uniforms and compulsory fund raising) are 60k a year. I bust my ass to keep a roof over our heads working 2 jobs. I have seen socialised healthcare and education work well in other countries (an army is just socialised protection, but for some it is inconvenient to see it that way), I have also seen capitalism work wonders for the economy (Mrs T in the UK turned the country around). Why can we not have somebody just take the best ways of doing things irrespective of their political persuasion and get shit done.

If this country wants to be great again it needs to work based on real results and not political hyperbole.

(oh and get rid of fox news!)

I think the more relevant fact about David Kernell would be

that he is the son of an elected Democrat (http://www.redstate.com/darin_h/2008/09/18/palin-hacker-son-of-democrat-lawmaker/), so he wasn't what you'd call a random impartial hacker.

most unlikely that the hacker was a home-schooled teabagger, they tend to skip stories about alice and bob to concentrate about the one where jesus rides a dinosaur in the beginning, which was 4000 years ago.

    A silver lining

There is a silver lining to this story. At least a few more socially challenged people will be off the streets and in prison getting "rehabilitated". Some folks are slow to catch on to reality.
