    WTF?

NZ$15,000 for downloading songs that sell for $1? I thought the Kiwi's had lost lost all sense of proportion when they starts jailing parents for smacking their kids, but clearly not. There was still some left to lose.

I'm curious to see if said warnings include a list of the copyrighted content that was allegedly downloaded.

Was it not previously ruled that an IP address is not sufficient to prove that the owner of the connection is the one committing the infringement.

If you were to run a TOR node, wouldn't this give the same result?

Careful with the wording Mr Reg

It is after being ACCUSED of downloading three times. Until the third notice you have no comeback against the accusations - if your accuser makes a mistake twice it is not till the third time that you will even know who they are.

That is why this law was so unpopular, because for two thirds of the process you are blind to where the accusations come from.

"It is after being ACCUSED of downloading three times" Nonono, the new laws promulgated by the copyright mafia states that you ARE guilty unless you can prove your innocence. If you have been accused you are guilty, therefore the wording is correct.

Dunno about NZ, but if its as easy to signup for mobile pre-paid broadband using false credentials as it is in other countries in the same region, as long as sir does not mind to pay a bit extra, sir can continue to have Internet access. Anonymously. End up then getting 3 Strikes on your anonymous prepaid account? Just open another. And another. and another. et al.... Whats that? Sir has an external parabolic antenna for sir's USB broadband dongle and sir can point it at the 3G tower several suburbs away? Supurb! Sir will continue to enjoy downloading whatever the fuck sir enjoys....

    Anonymous, for obvious reasons.
