    WTF?

    Either Apple money ...

    or threats of Apple violence.

Mind you, that original complaint was pathetic.

      LOL!

I like the concept of Apple Violence, how might that work?

      Razorblade in a toffee apple??

Whatever could have made them do that?

"Monetary relief alone is inadequate ..."

    So, lots of money then.

    Fair enough

They could have played this one out nicely, but instead they threw a big hissy-fit tantrum.

Now everyone remembers them as "that company that threw a huge hissy-fit tantrum" and thus they have ruined their 'iCloud' moniker all by themselves. It's no wonder they want to redress themselves as something else, I wouldn't want to hire a company that publicly embarrasses themselves so thoughtlessly.

      Hissy-fit tantrum entirely appropriate

If someone rips off your corporate identity.

        appropriate yes...

...but in which case, they should have the integrity to carry on with the suit, and now give up and wuss out when someone throws a fistful of cash their way

I think the numbers might be somewhat larger

The sentiment is probably right though.

You would have thought with all the other iGoofs with product names they would have thought of this before announcing to the world. It with have probably saved them a "0" on the price of silence.

      How about iBM?

Apple are never going to be able to squash that one!

        iBM?

I REALLY don't want to see the 'revolutionary, magic' Apple product that gets that name

    WONNNNNGAAAAA!

UK readers got the image of that unlovely fat bloke from the %4000+ APR advert, now? Good ;o)

Still a payday is a payday and is likely a small bill for Apple compared to whatever paywalled-garden-ness apple want to build into their MicrosoftCloud.

And probably a result for icloud, to be honest.

      Off topic

But I wonder if anyone can explain why those Ads for payday loans at 4000% interest are legal? Seems like loan sharking to me.

      I'd have bought them PDQ

Just to sit their and smile at the Apple lawyers for a nice change.

If Apple can get the police to watch guard while they search a house for a misplaced phone, then you know that Apple greased some wheels with top executives in this company.

NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Just need to know what the cost was to finish the story.
