    Or Alternatively

Being able to see images of the real book is all very nice, but if you just want to read the book, then you will probably be able to find the same content at Project Gutenberg, for free.

For the most part I agree, although the images of the actual texts in their original fonts would be a plus for me, and make this app worth considering. Especially since getting to the British Library would take much more than a simple tube fare for me.

But if you don't care about that, then Project Gutenberg in combination with Calibre (<http://www.calibre-ebook.com/>, the best e-book organizer around) is the way to go.

I have used this for a while...

It's nice to read something that's closer to a real old book, complete with printed covers, faded, water-damaged pages, odd scrawls, underlines and marginal comments.

The choice of books in the taster app is also interesting. It's the nearest thing to browsing a scruffy second-hand bookshop I can get in the non english speaking country where I reside.

“It’s like picking the book off the bookshelf"

Ah yes, that old book smell. The fragile feel and crinkle of old pages. The density of old books with their thin paper and thick covers. The way the desiccated pages suck the moisture out of your finger as you flick through them.

    Twat.
