    secrets and lies

    Is there a correlation between keeping a secret and telling lies? For some, the keeping of a secret may (tacitly) imply also telling one or more lies.

    And what of the large aparatus that focuses on "security"? Are those charged with keeping national/military secrets, or corporate/business secrets, also subject to this issue? I would wonder if the belief that the keeping of the secret is justifiable and a "good thing" might mitigate any side effects, compared with secrets kept out of shame or guilt.

    Selyean stress occurs no matter what we do, but different forms of the stress are more harmful than others. Perhaps so to with the keeping of secrets.
