Further to that, the entire INDUSTRY is one giant cartel run by the Moguls. It's onlys since the Internet that acts have had the opportunity to get their work known without going through one of these pimps/dealers.

As this revolution progresses, these Moguls will be the first against the wall. The artists who embrace new channels will survive (as they always have done). Those that rely on an outdated business model will vanish into obscurity.

Where would we be if the music charts were still calculated on sheet music sales??? Kiss would never have made it.

Simmons is one of the very reasons the 'industry' is moaning.

They fawned over corporate outfits like Kiss who never really had anything to do with music, all that is required is to move product.

No Industry? Try some of the reason being that by the standards set in the 60s and 70s (the payola investigations were about chart rigging of a kind that seems normal today) the charts are corrupt and irrelevant to the buying public. I mean how can air play - which is divvied up cosily between the stations and the media companies - be part of a "rating system" that counts the most popular? Lets not get into the hugely overpriced Digital sales (downloads) where the consumer even pays for the delivery mode (internet bandwidth and gets no Physical content and yet is charged close to the cost of a physical product by the cartel that runs music - anyone have any idea why this hasn't been properly investigated? I notice mr painty face has nothing to say about THAT - or is that cos the rip off works in favour of the industry? I wont get into the number of no talents that are out there purely because of good marketing and tech fiddling.... but you get the picture.

Memo to the industry (that means record cos radio stations and chart compliers).

A chart of the most popular music is supposed to reflect the listening publics taste and trends.. not how cozy you are with a radio controller to get some cr*p played ad nauseum. The Charts are worthless when week after week we get "straight in at no1" it has NO meaning... in the past it was a huge acheievment to do that, do you not see how you have devalued the whole industry by your own corruption? You killed your industry and alienated your audience. Well done!

Gene and his painted buddies (who wearing that much make up look like they might be in the market for the rough bit of trade Gene (or should that be Jean??) commented about - wishful thinking Id guess) are no longer current or valid, they are so yesterday - or more accurately last century. They should stick to being a running joke on Family Guy - and - like the record companies - stop trying to rip off the public with old/rehashed/poor quality/plagiarized/auto-tuned crap and put out some decent material which people would buy - especially if it was at a reasonable price. Id say get over yourself honey but then given his comments about the fate of fresh faced teens (thats a disturbing chain of thought he is displaying there) he may enjoy it

The music business needs to stop relying on inflated prices to support its marbled and leather trimmed offices, in the same way that some aging rockers (who were of dubious worth even when they were current) need to understand that they are over/finished/done/out of touch with current music.

Oh and for comparison I did a search on a friends local band album from the mid to early 80s. And that produced a large number of torrents - gave up when I hit 20.

First off, its not raging its more than valid to comment on the grotesquely over the top way the American Police State is behaving in this news and it literally is a Police State with this kind of state harassment and authoritarian bullying behaviour. I do not want to live in a Police State and that I take very seriously and I'm prepared to stand up to and oppose that level of state control.

Also as you are AC as well, for all we know, you could even be that AC commenter getting some usual troll joy out of now downplaying my comments as raging. (The way you word it, its clearly is a sly way to put me down, a good warning sign of the endlessly sly mind games so loved by trolls, so there is a good chance you are that same AC). Trolls enjoy playing mind games, making themselves feel they get attention for their actions and some even delight in being able to manipulate others with their twisted comments that prompt a response and so win them extra attention. They delight in their "power" to manipulate and the "power" to get attention. Warning signs of both NPD + HPD behaviour.

In many ways this Gene Simmons is playing that very same troll game as well. All the self promotion helps him stay high profile which will help him sell more and he knows it. He is playing the media for attention and very probably loving being the centre of attention. He is getting attention from his controversial comments and he very clearly is Narcissistic, so he really will be loving playing the media for more attention. So he is combining strong warning signs of both a Histrionic Personality Disorder with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

Its people like that who have to be opposed in society or they will twist this world into an abusive nightmare world for the rest of us, just as they abuse others around them with their endlessly attention seeking and bullying self interested ways. These people are the enemy of society, but there's a minority of very outspoken people in society who share this twisted way of thinking and behaving and so they support that twisted kind of society. Their manipulative mind games have to be opposed.

I do not want to live in an authoritarian world and I'm prepared to stand up and fight back against it to fight for freedom and I'm not alone. Look what's happening around the world, many people have had enough of the twisted societies created to serve our sly & manipulative rich and powerful leaders. Societies that we are all force to live in (and so many generations have been forced to live in). All because our leaders want to play their endlessly corrupting manipulative sly ways against us all, all so they can gain and fuck over all of us. This Gene Simmons is one of them and I'm sick of his kind manipulatively treating most people like scum they can abuse for their gain and I'm not alone. More and more people have had enough of what is happening and the Internet is helping us to see what is happening and why more than ever before. Is it any wonder ever more people are angry with people like Gene Simmons.
