White AMERICANS will have become MEKON brain-men by 3000AD
Certain Americans' heads are getting larger at a "dramatic" rate, say researchers at the Forensic Anthropology Center at the University of Tennesse, citing a 6.8 per cent increase in skull length in the past 100 years across their sample. At this rate, the heads of this group of Americans will have doubled in length sometime …
Brains growing larger...
.. just like the bloat-ware all the systems around us have become, they now have to accommodate how to keep your PC going, more so if you're using Linux, how to program your multi-remote, washing machine, dish-washer, car, gps in car, syncing your Android phone, 'managing' your iPhone music library, looking for cheap flight deals across a dozen websites, dealing with cold callers who want to help you claim PPI insurance for loans you never had, sorting through your junk mail filter to stop e-mails from your bank that are actually useful from being junked etc. etc. ad infinitum...
It's perfectly simple.
A bigger skull means there's more room round it for fat.
Incidentally, I bet they haven't grown by 8mm at all, but by 5/16 of an inch.
Been there, got the baseball hat...

Theme Hospital
Anyone else here played Theme Hospital? One of the complaints patients came in for was "Bloaty Head Syndrome". In fact it was the most common complaint.
The cure was to stick a pin in it and it went down with a bang like a burst baloon.
It seems that Theme Hospital was set in the future.

Lovely extrapolation!
Of course we must assume any trend in the past goes unchecked. Double brain size in 3000 AD? make that 4x bigger in 4000 AD, a massive 10kg brain size in 5000 AD etc. How long before our brains are visible from space?
I blame Hollywood
A favored type among male leads is short with a large head--think Tom Cruise (if you can bear to). No doubt this causes susceptible female moviegoers to seek out that somatotype, so increasing skull size and holding down the height increase.
I hope this doesn't mean ...
... that vaginas are getting bigger
Here I am, brain the size of a planet and they expect me to comment on articles like this. Call that job satisfaction, 'cause I don't. [Sigh]
...a group of Americans...3000 AD?
I don't think so.
History suggests otherwise.
