    Remember MOFCOM is just like the UK/Euro regulators when they started up - incompentent and (probably) corrupt. The Middle Kingdom is just playing catchup.

    With primarily HGST executives at the helm...

    I hope the quality of Western Digital improves; and sets a higher standard increasing pressure on Seagate to improve reliability!

      If wishes were horses....

      The other thing to take away from this decision is that China finally believes that SSDs are past the kneepoint, so a duopoly in spinning media isn't so critical anymore.
