        Actually advertising is only there because back in the mid 1990s payment processors weren't in place and there was no way to get subscription income. The internet has suffered ever since.

    Well there you go, Microsoft up to it's old tricks again where it's completely hopeless at competing in the market place so enters into proxy legal chicanery. MS build something people want (and will gladly pay for) instead of foisting half baked shit on people; it's called innovation.

    "advertising is the lifeblood of the internet" - really? This just goes to show how completely self-absorbed and egotistical these ad-parasites really are (as if we needed any more proof).

    It's like a tapeworm being upset because its host has eaten too many curries so making it harder for it to grip the gut walls.

    Advertising is only tolerated because most sites haven't looked for any other business models.
