Dot-word domains, the gift that keeps on giving. I am going to laugh like hell if everyone just blocks them at the firewall or spam filter like they deserve to be.

Yeah, the guys who own (amongst lots of others) ".army", ".navy", and ".airforce" registered their intent to allow country codes as 2LDs - so anyone could buy, e.g. ".us.army" or ".us.airforce" - on 18th December 2014, so the 30 days ran out on 17th January 2015.

All other things being equal "www.recruiting.us.navy" could be anybody at all, but plenty of gullible young wannbe sailors and sailorettes are likely to give a site with a name like that (and some carefuly selected graphical elements) all the information anyone would ever want to do identity theft

In other good news, it's been announced that as it takes governments 60 days to respond to anything, all citizens in all countries are to be given 60 days to query any tax any government says they are due to pay, and the governments won't be allowed to do anything at all to do wth that matter until after that period ...

Yeah, because ICANN is really, really reliable where complaints are concerned. There is absolutely no example of any complaint that has not been rigorously handled and justifiably managed, no sir, cross my heart (you shut up in the back, or I will cross your domain off the Web forever).
