    ... just as soon as they hear about the cut-price fire sale specials Australian 'Pay for your degree' universities will be marketing overseas once the high-school leavers figure out that going to Uni means you won't i. Get a job* or ii. ever be able to pay a mortgage let alone pay the rent and your HECS debt. After all, someone has to pay the exquisite salaries, benefits and superannuation of the politicians (who mostly got their degrees for nothing), to say nothing of the needy miners and corporations that put them in power.

    * Scrap 'em early: Over 50% of nurses and ICT students cannot get a job as those sectors are only hiring 'skilled foreigners' on 457 visas instead of training grads (or for that matter, paying experienced local workers a little for their skills).
