How hard must these things be to repair...

...if they're confident enough that noone is going to be able to fix at least one of the 4 pairs and get a working unit for $50?

Even if they were repaired, they won't work. You wouldn't be able to register them, get the software, etc. You don't think that Google didn't do more than just kill the USB port? That would be too easy.

Your correct it is too easy, how hard is it to solder a new USB charger and download Android for Google Glass... Oh not to mention you'd be looking through a PRISM..

A screwdriver?! Nah. I bet the ports were never damaged by Google at all, they just sent out sets that have been returned by the user as 'Not working for some reason, the charger doesn't fit right, I tried wiggling it but it just made a burning smell'.
