Well this doesn't bode well ontop of the recent crucifying of independents by the content ID system... the forced integration with google+, the unfair strike system, and all the rest of the anti- real content creator actions taken by the network of late.

I don't upload to Youtube any more

Not since Google+. I don't have anything to do with the comments either any more, what with not having a Plus account and refusing to create one. I'll leave the comments to the retards, trolls and shills that have been getting worse since Google+.

And if you're that pissed off by forced integration yourself, I suggest doing the same. Bob's tanks are amusing, but no content == no youtube.

Plus Vimeo, DailyMotion and the others could probably use the boost.

My mind struggles to encompass the possibility that Youtube comments could get any worse. You'd have to come up with some truly mind-bending laws of commentard dynamics to allow that to be possible, enough to make a quantum physicist go "Huh? What? No! That can't make sense."

Given that most ecosystems are full of shit ...

... she'll likely be quite at home at YouTube.

Hell, I quit reading at the point she said "ecosystem".

It was as if she hung a sign hanging around her neck reading "I don't have a single original thought in my tiny little brain."

I've long since started moving my content to Vimeo...

...where there's actually a fair-sized percentage of quality original content which can be easily found without having to slog through piles of stupid music videos, twerking videos, plane crash porn, people throwing dry ice into swimming pools, cats sliding off of tabletops, and MLM pitches with the notoriously vile, nasty, trollage- and spam-loaded comment sections... not to mention being able to post with having to deal with YouTube's ball-busting music police.

My wife and I spend a month in Puerto Vallarta every year, and I like to post a video diary -- little five-minute "underground travelogues" -- for our friends back home, accompanied by the most obscure, little-known music I can find, like old 45rpm rips of '60s garage-rock instrumentals by long-gone bands on long-gone labels, never reissued anywhere. The last straw for me came when I posted a piece using some obscure old Latin jazz track, and I got one of those snippy, anal-retentive warnings from YouTube about "third-party content", one of those little stick-pokes where they say they aren't going to do anything nasty to my account or take down my video, but that they're going to be festooning my video with those little pop-ups advertising the album the track came from. Mind you, this wasn't some massively popular international pop hit, but a track from the early '60s by some obscure Cuban jazz outfit that hardly anybody's heard of. So, I finally decided fuck this noise, I can't be bothered with this chickenshit anymore.
