Enable bluetooth mouse mode - already works with a bluetooth keyboard and you have a very read desktop replacement - sure not for everyone but would suit many uses.

Yeah, Yeah, yeah...

Yet another of the illiterati positing the death of the desktop, all due to a new...no, rumored iShiny that has a screen the same size as an old black-and-white TV I had when I was in college.

My desktop, which is by most descriptions is modest, has two 24" 1920x1060 displays, terabytes of disk storage, and ethernet, wi-fi, USB and SCSI connectivity. Oh, yeah...and sound. And you think I'm going to replace that with a *Pad?

Dude, lay off the 'shrooms!

What do you code apps on if you don't have a desktop or laptop machine?

Foxconn is "currently doing the UI debugging"?

Or they ran out of glue to fill the thing up with, given the larger size and recent teardown reports of the new mini and air and how much of it was holding them together.

Thumb Down

No Thanks......

What I want is an A4 size ereader with colour e-screen and changable battery.

Would make books / magazines / pdf's much easier to read.

Then I would stick with my other kit inc tablet for a couple more years at least.

"Thanks to Microsoft and Intel, it will be unleashed next March"

Or, to put it another way, never.

Or...

...the MacPad.

It's a MacBook Air, running OSX, but has a detachable screen which is a large iPad running iOS when in standalone mode for when you want to take it in to meetings just to run your Keynote from.
