back to article iCloud outage outrage: Look, iPhoto friends, kitty just learned to... NOOO

Apple's iCloud is suffering an outage that has resulted in millions of fanbois being unable to access the service. According to Apple's own status page, there are currently issues with photo stream, documents in the cloud, backup and iPhoto journals, which some fanbois use to share snaps on Facebook. Around 1 per cent of all …

what happened to take down the services. Somebody needed to vacuum the datacenter?

@ AC 1442h GMT - Re: iWonder

No.

It was, as in the other cases of recent outages, the installation of the NSA-tap into the network. It just takes a bit longer with Apple, because they didn't have MacOs/BSD drivers for the hardware maintenance ready. Services will be back soon.

On another thought, most iPhone owners probably didn't even notice it because the main functionality* was not impeded.

Fanbois here.

iCloud is not down, certain services within iCloud are down.

Is anyone really concerned that photostream is offline for a bit?

Fanbois vs. Troll authors - jeez, grow up

Grow up for christ's sake. Doesn’t your editor make you behave older than 14?

It was fun for a while, but slagging off a huge part of the population as well as your readers is not clever, only sad.

wah wah he's making fun of my beloved apple.

They also refer to android fans an fandroids, or freetards. It isn't just the fanbios who get the piss taken out of them, so why not take your own advice and go cry elsewhere about how your people are being picked on.

Ah accusing people of racism because they pointed out what a whiney little toad you are, bravo. Let me just save you the next step of your arguement.

HITLER!

Y'know, fulfilling godwins law and all that.

And really, going throgh your previous posts, claiming nutrility when every other post of yours has either been attacking windows / android, or defending mac. You're a fanboi, just admit it and save us all the time and effort of your drivel.

Owning all three devices is no defense. I own a ps3, wii, 360, gaming PC, and tablet. Doesn't mean I won't shit all over the xbox and claim ps3 is superior.

Easier than counting to 9.

Alternatively it could be a 3-inch entry in a d*ck measuring contest.

Nope - you don't really have to be a noob to find today's Reg irritating at times.

When I first started frequenting Vulture Hall, I - and other acquaintances - viewed El Reg as the "Private Eye" equivalent in the IT world - with in-depth analysis, informed opinion and intelligent speculation. This was matched by the quality of the comments, too.

Now? - it's more akin to "Viz" too often, and the comment pages frequently confirm that realignment.

Yes, I'm asking for a zillion downvotes, after all, "Student Grant" hated to be told how Student Grant-like he was...

"slagging off a huge part of the population"

The dumbed down masses, do you mean?

Don't they exist for slagging off?

What else are they useful for?

For strut-and-pose amongst themselves; for providing a source of laughter to others?

Come on, if you parade shiny-shinies and a sense-of-self-importance complex we're going to laugh.

What's with all these major internet services having these outages?

Has the internet grown to such a point that entropy has set in?

Did you spot the trend? The company names are getting shorter!

The next outage will be Dell, and after that IBM.

Another Cloud service down.

So, as of now at least Google, Amazon, Yahoo and Facebook have gone down in the last week.

What's that saying - one time is no time, two times is a coincidence, three times is a conspiracy?

There is wickedness afoot. I wonder if we'll ever find out what it is. I'm going to take a wild guess that someone has figured out a way to down cloud services, and is blackmailing the big'uns.

Actually, I figure it's the NSA pulling their taps to cover up just how far they were into the whole system.

Like all evil things, they hate getting a light shone on them.

Of further interest is that *some* users documents are unavailable and that iMessage is down....

Does this mean iMessage has now become important enough that it warrants real time access for the authorities? (remember BBM during the London riots)
