    Thumb Up

CISPA Dead (for now) in US Senate

Since CISPA is Dead (for now) in the US Senate, this change to EPCA will actually take effect and have the desired result.

    "CISPA is dead for now"

The lobbying equivalent of "Reserve not met".

Either RIAA/MPAA have to lift their bids or the Senate has to be a bit more realistic about how many yachts this bill will buy them.

A frowny face is unfortunately the right icon. The world would be a much better place if about %90 of the humans on it were eliminated.

Doesn't matter. If they want your email, they'll look regardless. If there is something of interest, then they'll unofficially make copies first and request a search warrant. Once they have the search warrant, then they will "officially" look through the emails.

Simple rule of thumb, if you are doing something wrong, illegal or immoral, don't leave a paper trail. This is the 21rst century, with more rights to the crazies and control mongers, less rights for people wobbling in the lines.

Get your minds around it or do something about it. plain and simple.

      Or...

...... use one of the many email encryption services springing up - preferably one which hosts its servers somewhere where they have some respect for individual privacy and a willingness to tell the U.S. to naff off when necessary. France, perhaps?

So now the corporations have carte blanke to read your unencrypted email,

but not the police. Right smart move that is, right smart!
