Pirate Bay to world: We're not really off to NORKS
The Pirate Bay has admitted that its claim to have relocated its servers to North Korea was a hoax, and then had a pop at those who believed the file-sharing site the first time around. TPB surprised many when it claimed in a statement released earlier this week that it had been granted “virtual asylum” in the secretive Asian …
TPB April fools
They nearly always do them in March instead of April. They did the exact same hoax before.
“As a diplomat, he was a great basketball player.”
I hadn't seen that quote, which is a pity because it's one of the best quips I've heard in years, pity it was most likely written by a speech writer or PR flak... where oh where have all the Churchill style off the cuff remarks gone?
While I agree that we are lacking in off the cuff remarks I think this guy was paraphrasing someone else..... I just wish I could remember who....... that's the problem with age!
"“As a diplomat, he was a great basketball player.”
Wow: Back-handed buuuurrrnnn.
It might have been a compliment if it had been the other way around!
"Wow: Back-handed buuuurrrnnn."
As Wanda from Corner Gas would say: "Scorch - Pow!"
The only people stupid enough to fall for it were the great journaltards here.
No, no, the hoax is a hoax
That's what they want you to think.
Re: No, no, the hoax is a hoax
If the hoax was a hoax, then it wouldn't be believable .... oh wait ...
Re: No, no, the hoax is a hoax
"Yo Dawg. I'm creating a hoax about my hoax being created as a hoax so my hoax about he hoax being a hoax...."
Re: Yo Dawg
"Yo Dawg... I heard u like jokes about jokes so I put a hoax in ur hoax so u can prank while u prank!"
"file-sharing site"
Pedantically, TPB is a search engine site. The file-sharing is done elsewhere.
Re: "file-sharing site"
Not just the file-sharing. Pretty much anything like actual work, in fact.
If John McAfee didn't write it, I'm not believing it.
Paris, because... we'll always have Paris. Now shop til u drop, bitchez.
"it appears The Reg was right to be sceptical of its claims."
Even better would have been a short article, thus:
"We were going to help TPB with their latest publicity stunt.
But we decided we have better things to do."
2008 called,,,
,,,,and wants its torrent search engine back,
Re: 2008 called,,,
Sure... if you prefer rapidshare-like shit-sites with their time-wasting crap, lack of decent search, links to files on them being dead three hours after posting, and restrictive download limits. Torrents+VPNs are where it's at now. If you think torrents are dated or irrelevant these days, you aren't looking very hard.
Re: 2008 called,,,
Dear Anonymous, keep taking your medication.
I don't recall suggesting Rapidshare as an alternative.
There are plenty of torrent sites out there which aren't clogged with clueless noobs such as your good self.
hehehe
Now I get to tell all those pro-DPRK suckers on Twitter "you've been trolled!".
No really. The same guys who praise Stalin were praising North Korea as a shining star in internet freedom. I wonder what they'll say today...
