World's LEGGIEST BLONDE is super-rare millipede living in SF
The world's leggiest animal has been rediscovered in California, the extremely rare millipede Illacme plenipes. It's often assumed that a centipede has 100 legs and a millipede has 1,000. But in fact centipedes can have hundreds of tiny pins and there is no known millipede with as many as 1,000 legs. One species of millipede …
Kill it.
KILL IT WITH FIRE.
Only joking. But keep it locked up.
Re: Kill it.
Or just run away whilst it's getting its boots on?
How many pairs of shoes does a girl need?
Well, lots...
I think we have a millipede living in our house!
There must be, I can see at least 200 pairs off shoes by the front door
Only 4 off them belong to me
That leaves 196 pairs belonging to 1 other adult and 2 children
Someone in our house has an obsession with shoes?
Re: I think we have a millipede living in our house!
And to think, you asked for one measly PC and got denied!
Re: I think we have a millipede living in our house!
Naaaa, can buy anything I want!
What goes 99, bump. 99, bump. 99, bump.
A centipede with a wooden leg.
Quick ring a scientist
You have a centipede that can count out loud!
I was waiting for it to tie itself in a knot.
I wonder if they ever do that.
Re: I was waiting for it to tie itself in a knot.
only when they get completely legless.
Raising Millipedes
"...body hairs that produce silk..."
Okay, the promised spider silk production hasn't happened yet, maybe we can raise these for their silk production.
I'm expecting a call from a venture capitalist now.
just me?
Or was that video just a little bit rubbish. Two seconds at the end where you could just about see the whole creature. The rest just zoomed in on a tiny bit of it, with no idea of scale or the length of the damn thing.
Leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy
Leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy
Leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy
Leggy, leggy, leggy, leggy
Blondie, blondie, blondie, blondie
Blondie, blondie, blondie, blondie
Blondie, blondie, blondie, blondie
Blondie, blondie
Leggy blonde, goodbye, goodbye
Nearly Knot a Millipede
It was that close to a figure-of-eight not.
Not SF
San Francisco is a densely populated city with foggy weather, urban culture, and an undesirable level excessive nudity. San Benito County is a vast sparsely populated area of sandy hills and small towns.
Without going into trainspotter details - Centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment, Millipedes have 2 pairs per segment, and according to QI none have 100 or 1000 legs.
Female species has more feet...
Just like most girls I know...
