He got 21 years, which will be reviewed and extended at the end of that time. Making it, effectively, a life sentence.

Firstly, you / we don't know his sentance WILL be extended...

I read the entire story as well as listening to his prosecutor on a radio 4 interview say the same thing as they (by her own admission) are quite soft on criminals.

Secondly, dont presume that i didn't read only the headline....It appears i understand more about the case than you....
