Lego ponders Portal pack
Lego may introduce a kit based on the Portal videogame series now that a petition to do so has gathered enough support to trigger consideration from an official tribunal. Lego Portal The Lego Portal concept was pitched to the brick maker through its Cuusoo platform, the same petition-style site which helped Lego Minecraft …
Does this mean that Portal 3 will be with Lego characters?
Just like all the Starwars & Indiana Jones games.
I hope not.
re: what next?
Not a bad idea. Just be sure to power it from a potato battery.
Re: A lego mindstorms GLaDOS?
At least that means you'd be able to smash the ****er to bits when her annoying voice and sarcastic comments push you over the edge.
Just to say: That Lego site is THE BESTEST THING EVER!
Can we maybe submit a Paris Hilton's Bedroom set?
I'm not racist but...
Lego people in colours other than yellow just look wrong.
Re: I'm not racist but...
Lego Simpsons?
At Legoland (Windsor) in the London area of Miniland there's an underground station and if you look carefully then you'll see the Simsons going up the escalator (or at least you could a couple of years ago ... may have changed since then)
Is it really that hard to build a weighted companion cube out of lego?
Kids today, eh? Tsk.
This was a triumph
I'm making a note here, huge success.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Hasn't even been submitted to review yet, let alone passed.
Possible problem here is those are some lovely minifig-scale CGI renders, but the Cuusoo project have already stated they don't have the budget for making new part shapes like a titchy little Portal gun.
I honestly think this would be a huge fail
I mean yeh these sets would be good for collectors, but kids are the major consumer group of lego, not 45 year old blokes with nothing better to spend their wages on.
I cant see that many kids saying "I want the lego portal playset for christmas"
I honestly think they'd be better off making a half life set, at least kids would be able to do something other than build a non working test chamber.
Re: @SpaMaster
And someone buys those collector edition Lego Death Stars - the ones without minifigs.
A Portal lego set would more likely end up as a bit of objet d'art in a worker's cubicle, bought for the recipient by family or friends than as a child's birthday present that spends a week or so assembled before the bits are reused in an unholy chimera of a model.
Lemons!
There better be lemons so I can burn someone's house down...with the lemons!
This is a nerd marriage made in heaven.
I actually think as a toy though, my idea for a LEGO council tower block would be more fun - part of the new "Lego Croydon" range!
Que...?
"This week, the company revealed its Lord of the Rings Lego range will hit shelves at the start of August."
Then explain to me why I found them on the shelves in Brisbane this last weekend? I bought the Shelob Attack set, so I *know* they're available Down Under.
Re: Que...?
That's probably the UK date - I know the US had them last week, I saw several different sets in Barnes & Noble.
Re: Que...?
Looks a lot like the Lego castle theme - with pointy ears

I can't wait for the LEGO SAW set.
So many ways to dismember minifigs...
