iPhone rival??

"The move comes as reports suggest the retailer-turned-e-book-maker is building its own mobile to rival Apple's iPhone".

Considering how Samsung SIII excels over the iPhones in terms of technology, if any new comer or new model from a present manufacturer should rival its the SIII and not the fruity thing.

"Watson’s LinkedIn bio says he’s now an Amazon director working on product management for the Kindle software business for first- and third-party devices.

Watson’s role involves putting Kindle apps on devices including Windows Phone, Android and iOS devices."

I want that job.......

Theres only one kindle app and its just written for each OS

Plus the Kindle Fire, already there and if a new one coming with new OS version thats hardly a major job, just keeping an eye on a few coders etc.

Whats he doing with the rest of the 4.9 days a week ?

Ahoy!

It's more about what he's running away from than what he is running towards. When your ship is sinking any lifeboat is a good lifeboat.

Re: Ahoy!

Exactly. 'At work' could mean he's stacking shelves. For people involved with the Windows Phone mega-fail, it's now a question of get out while you're still employable.

Windows phone execs

put the "ph" in "phail".

TIL that in 2012, a new phrase: "We're hiring Microsoft's best execs (ha!) to build an equivalent product to something already in the marketplace that's reliable." has passed up "Hold my beer and watch *this*" as the phrase most likely to not lead to optimal results.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, call me a doubter. Scoffer, even.

MS are crazy...

... to let guys like that go. Breaking up a team is always bad news. They let Arturo Toledo go as well.

Says a lot that the Connor traveller family seemed to be able to hang onto their staff for longer than MS are now able to hang onto theirs.

The exec responsible for Vista Ultimate, KIN and Windows Phone marketplace? Him they can afford to lose. If there was justice in the world he would have to change his name and take up goat ranching in northern Montana.
