My part in the GREATEST IPO SUCCESS of ALL TIME
[The founder of Shoreditch's leading VC investment boutique has been helping Facebook with its IPO - Ed] After a month in California on special business, during which I couldn't blog here or tweet, I returned to The Roundabout on Monday to hear that a naked man has been found eating the face off another naked man in the street …
Successful...
For Morgan Stanley and the other overpriced share sellers on the opening day.
It took me a while to work out whether this was meant to be sarcasm or serious.
Re: ... what is your conclusion?
In the Financial Universe / Current Kind, the difference has vanished.
>"sarcasm or serious"
It's neither. It's satire, which is best delivered with an absolutely straight face as seen here.
From the facebook POV, I would say it's resounding success. They sold something for a lot more then it was worth and walked away with the cash, laughing. I call that a sucessfull buisness deal
Successful? Really?
Market Cap of USD104bn on the day of the IPO...Market Cap of USD59bn right now.
Stock price down over 25% from its high. Way to go Sparky!!
Opinion
This is the most ego-centric, self congratulatory & badly written piece of prose i have read for quite some time.
That is all.
That's the point of the !Bong! posts.
At least, I REALLY hope it is...
Re: Opinion
Wooosh!
Try reading it again, only this time without your humour-sensitive sunglasses on.
for the uncertain few among us
... I think you'll find the clue to this article is in the word 'Shoreditch'.
Confused
What was this? Was it a joke or was it the dying words of a washed up Silicon Valley has-been riding his ego to insider trading charges?
I'm simply not sure. I am certain is was a load of crap either way though.
it beggars belief...
...that so many reg readers *still* don't get it.
that said, it's almost impossible to differentiate !bong! from fig lover, until you realise that one of them takes themselves very seriously indeed, while the other is clearly one of us driven insane by the stench of bulshit from shoreditch.
Re: it beggars belief...
Browns is in Shoreditch, which merely serves to remind me the place is chock full of c....
Good gawd/ess, ElReg ...
... Even Ted Dziuba's crap was better than this drivel. F-, must try harder.
Re: Good gawd/ess, ElReg ...
Hmm, I thought it seemed to be improving a little. Though admittedly from a rather low base.
Re: Good gawd/ess, ElReg ...
More appropriate grade is F-- "MUST BE FORCEFULLY REFRAINED FROM TRYING!! Find other occupation if possible, else discard!"
It's Verity Stob
The next generation.
Well - they do say sequels aren't usually as good.
Re: It's Verity Stob
Nah. Stob has clues. This idiot apparently doesn't.
Re: It's Verity Stob
You mean placing it in Bootnotes, the way it was written, the location of his VC company and the obviously implausible content of the article itself wasn't enough for you?
I agree, it *IS* 100% style
and doesn't even have much of that. could use some content, really.
