Microsoft hires Disney man for consumer crusade
Microsoft has raided the Walt Disney Corporation to fill a position tasked with flogging Windows 8 to consumers buying PCs and tablets next year. The company appointed former Disney director of brand strategy Jay Victor as its own director of brand strategy, working in Microsoft's Central Marketing Group (CMG). Victor has been …
Win8 will surpass CocaCola
As the brand most capable of rotting your teeth.
Or at least the adverts will.
He should
get on well with the person that designed the GUI for MS operating systems, they're probably old workmates.
Mickey-Mouse
This is a perfect fit for Microsoft's Mickey-Mouse security track record. Perhaps they can get Mickey as a mascot for their "security essentials" software (and ever-recurring patch system)?
Disney, eh?
It's going to go well with MS and their Mickey Mouse security!
First to say?
May I be the first to say selling "Micky Mouse software"?
May I be the first . . .
. . . to say something about it being a 'Mickey Mouse O/S/2
and using either a Penquin icon or a shouty-shouty or flames or explosion.
Well, it's gonna happen so . . . .
Good luck but...
I fear for a mighty push of antropomorphized dancing and singing boxed versions of Windows and Office, with a baritone Azure and a contralto Zune and various "glittertones" enhancing the experience. Urk.
This crusade,
Is it for or against the users? I think we should be told.
Makes sence to me.............
Microsoft bring out a phone OS thats way behind others coming to market because they missed the boat
Microsoft buy Skype for way more than its worth just because.........
Microsoft once again are behind everyone else and announce a tablet arm based windows OS that will arrive too late with IOS5 and Android 4 (ice cream sandwich) both out this year
Microsoft bring out a new cloud based Office...............................oh but you need desktop Office for it to work so not realy that cloudy.
What can they do to save themselves ?
Employ someone who is an expert in selling fantasy and dreams
Makes sense as thats what they are relying on for the future themselves.
Paris because she likes Mini Mouse
It must be said
What kind of Mickey Mouse operation are they running in Redmond?
Ok, I'll go now.
Has anyone thought...
... how closely Bill Gate's behaviour used to match that of Walt Disney?
Come to think of it, since then both companies have gone on to rip off the general public at every available opportunity.
Am I the only one that noticed?
Typical Microsoft, they need new, fresh ideas in innovating their image, and instead of hiring someone with fresh, new ideas, they hired... a manager. <sigh>
Just what they don't need, more management and bureaucracy to take up time figuring out how to look "young" and "hip"!
(Granpa, get off that skateboard, you can't afford another hip!)
