back to article Wintery January hurts US jobs growth

The succession of winter storms in the United States in January put the freeze on hiring, and according to a report from the Department of Labor this morning, the economy added only 36,000 net new jobs. That is a lot less than the 200,000-plus jobs that the American economy needs to just keep up with population growth – and a …

Wishful thinking perhaps

The criminals on Corruption Hill in DC would like the gullible masses to believe all is well and that companies are hiring again but it's another scam.

Snowstorms! Get ready for Quantiative Easing Part 3!

FIRE!!

Keynesians will cream their pants, wise widows will transform their dollar account into cold, hard and shiny metal bought illegally and leftists will bemoan the "austerity" measure hitting the "worker class", then demand a tax hike and a wage increase because it's hard to live under boot of capitalists.

It's a joke

Employment figures in the US are only really useful for calculating financial forecasts. The "real" numbers are more likely 10x the figure.

They don't care really as they only represent 1st America as any good oligarchy should.

1st America plays while 2nd America pays.

In other news, employment for ice chippers is way up...

A member of my team lives in Connecticut, USA. Paid someone 500US$ to clear the ice and snow off the roof of his house so it would stop leaking and (hopefully) not collapse.

Never mind the gutters - they are also full of ice, but at least they didn't fall off.

But watch out for the eight foot long icicles... wouldn't want to be under one when it fell...

Second team member reports from Boston Mass that neighbors are taking pickaxes to the accumulated ice in the driveway.

Gubbies in weather shocker... again

Sometimes it boggles the mind. Who would think that cold weather and flying snow keeps folks inside snuggled up with hot toddies and nachos? I think what really took the moronic bureaucrats in D.C. by surprise is that this winter weather occurred in January. Who could have foreseen such anomalous weather patterns? The pols were clearly expecting most folks to be out in t-shirt and shorts toiling away and looking forward to that weekend waltz on the beach followed by shopping and fine dining in the evening.

Obama praying

Obama must be praying the Republicans are dumb enough to nominate Palin in 2012. Its the only way he gets reelected unless a whole lot of jobs get created starting like right now (lead time on employment is long).
